Chloe here from Sunrise Social North Coast team with some info for the site 😀

Who are we?

We are the North Coast Sunrise Social group, part of the Sunrise Social global community.

Where are we located?

We are located on the North Coast of Northern Ireland, we have meet ups along different parts of the North coast, including Portrush, Portstewart, Castlerock, Downhill and more to come!

How often do we meet?

We meet most Saturday mornings, all details on events are always posted on our instagram and Facebook pages the week of the event. @sunrisesocialnorthcoast

Who makes up the team?

The team is made up of 17 amazing volunteers! Chloe Mullan, Megan Mc Williams, Clare Doherty, Ciara Kane, Niamh O’Kane, Hannah McGregor, Emma Kane, Kirsty McHenry, Clare McConnell, Kerri Ann Kane, Patrick Martin, Anna Breslin, Kathryn Mullan, Kevin Mc Stravock, Fearghal Collins, James McClint, and Hal McGonigle).
What other activities do we do? We also do occasional Friday sunset meet-ups, Sunday walks and want to take a leaf from the Co.Down Sunrise Social group and hopefully host a charity bottomless brunch soon!

Why is sunrise social important to our community?

In 2020, Covid-19 and lockdowns hit our community hard. Lots of people moved home after being abroad for years and felt lonely after coming back, others had many friends moving away for jobs, as the pandemic hit the economy hard, and felt isolated.

We wanted to create an accessible weekly event for people of every age to come along too. We wanted everyone to feel welcome to come along for a chat, coffee and catch-up.

Sunrise social has helped us make friends and memories we never would have had prior to joining this amazing community.
